9 Tips to Great Design for Your Marketing Materials
9 TIPS FOR GREAT DESIGN
1) Dont just hire a good designer. Hire someone who
has had plenty of experience designing business
collateral. Your designer needs to ask you the
right questions about the project. And he/ she
needs to be able to turn the design round
reasonably fast too.
2) Write the copy first. I believe the copy drives the
project. (Unless this is a print ad, in which case
the visual and headline will often dominate).
3) Read your copy word for word to your designer.
Youd be amazed how often designers dont
understand the project because they havent been
properly briefed. Your designer is going to be
expressing in design the same persuasive arguments
that you / your writer will be articulating in words.
4) Ensure that your designer communicates your branding
i.e. the values you are trying to communicate.
5) Check that the copy is easy to read once it has
been laid out by your designer. If the design takes
too much attention to itself, then your readers wont
be following your arguments.
6) A professional designer will give you a creative brief:
he sets out on paper the brief as he understands
it. This includes the brand and the benefits of the
offer in question. The creative brief means
misunderstandings get cleared up before it they are
too expensive to change.
7) Hell then present you with 2-3 design options for
your review, about 3 weeks later.
8) Remember, you arent choosing the color for your
sports car, you are choosing the piece that best
reflects the brand and personality of your company or
offering.
9) Finally your designer brings you the finished product.
He instructs printers and oversees production.

Customer Review: Pretty bad
Angel of Vengeance is a cheap movie that looks to be made in Taiwan. The weird music at the start should tell you right away this is probably not going to be good. Yukari Oshima is an assassin who is looking to take down down super villian Chung Fat because he killed her parents when she was little and because he now has her sister as one of his prostitutes. Now I should give this movie a 1 star because of an unexcusable rape scene that I guess is meant to show us that rape would be a difficult thing to have happen to you. But since it has a couple of average ation sequences, I will give it a low 2.
Chung Fat unfortunately doesn't get to do a lot of fighting, just like a lot of his movies. Yukari Oshima definately gets the most fighting time and thank God for her. No scenes you will be watching over and over again but it is always great to see her in action. Alexander Lo Rei(Ninja in the USA) is Oshima's fiend and it is a dream to see him back in action in a modern day(1993) crime movie. Alex Fong shows up to do basically nothing and some blind woman gives maybe the best performance of the movies as Fat's bodyguard. The final fight is incredibly stupid and when I spotted Ngai Sing(Red Wolf) as one of the henchman, I was excited throughout the entire movie only to see him die without even throwing a punch. And that pretty much sums up the movie, not enough action where you had all the stars you needed and even a couple of great extras. The story basically revolves around a girl doing research for a thesis she is doing on brothels. The only thing this leads to is her being raped and other horrible scenes in the brothel. Like I said, it deserves a 1 star rating but I am a sucker for seeing a bunch of my favorite kung fu stars even if they are not in proper action sequences.
Image Entertainment has released this on DVD and the best part about the DVD is the great picture quality. Also, I didn't like the movie but I love my free 'Angel of Vengeance' t-shirt that the DVD came with.
Customer Review: Yukari Oshima IS the "Angel of Vengeance!"
I have seen Japan's Yukari Oshima in "Angel of Vengeance", and her kickboxing is fantastic. Her acting in the film is very credible. I have never seen her so furious as in this film, where she playing the daughter of a mobster king killed in a turf war, who vows to avenge her father's death. The supporting characters, including actor Alexander Liu, star of "The Super Ninja" and "Mafia Vs. Ninja" in the film are also interesting; some are comical, others are naive with a lot to learn from life amidst intimidating thugs seeking to control their chosen turf.
The film was truly interesting, packed with dynamic action scenes, and a bloody showdown. The courageous Oshima deserves much applause as the First Lady of Kickboxing Action Films. I bought the video, and I rate it five (5) stars out of five(5), and I am so glad that I would'nt trade or sell it for anything. Hong Kong action is fantastic, and in "Angel of Vengeance" you can experience it all for yourself!
